A Coronation Celebration

On Sunday May 7th Bridges Centre are hosting a family fun day in recognition of the Kings Coronation. There will be a number of activities available throughout the afternoon to keep you and the little ones entertained.

The day will commence with the official unveiling of our fabulous tree sculpture, artist Chris Wood will be joined by centre director Aileen Atkinson and local luminaries to officially open the sculpture to the public. We have a word search based on the sculpture for the little ones to try and discover all of the animal carvings on the tree.

Monmouth Brass Band will then open the afternoon with some rousing tunes outside on the lawn. Bring a picnic blanket and hopefully enjoy a sunny afternoon on the grass where there will be garden games available to enjoy. There will be a bouncy castle for children to use as well as a face painter who can transform your little one into something special. Children can decorate their very own crowns in the craft corner.

There is a specially written scavenger hunt that will reward those able to fathom the clues with a chocolatey surprise!

A group of generous volunteers will be manning a cake bake stall, help yourself to a tasty treat (donations welcome but not necessary). We will be serving teas and coffee, as well as soft drinks, to wash the cake down.

A hog roast will be available between 1pm and 2pm. This is completely free but you must obtain a ticket in order to claim your meal. You can request tickets from our Eventbrite site here.

Later in the afternoon we have a wonderful musical duo to entertain you. The Pipers are very local to the centre and will bring a little Celtic flavour to proceedings.

We hope to see as many of you as possible for a celebration in the sunshine.
