Bridges is delighted and proud to announce that the legendary Italian chef, Franco Taruschio OBE, has agreed to continue his successful support of the Centre in 2019.


Following the successful launch of his cookery school with Lindy Wildsmith at Bridges in 2018, he is offering three gourmet supper club evenings where you will learn to cook a simple and delicious two course meal which you will then be able to enjoy before going home.

The first of these evenings will be on Thursday January 24 and will feature “Pollo alla Catanzarese,” a delicious baked chicken dish followed by a limoncello and grappa tart. The chicken theme will be continued on Thursday March 7 when Franco will be producing “Cannelloni Rossini” with his supper guests. You will learn how to make your own cannelloni pasta with a delicious chicken filling with a delicious tarta caprese (chocolate) to follow. Finally, on Thursday May 16, Franco will be teaching his guests to make “Gnocchi di patate con sugo di anatra,” a duck dish with a plum tart as dessert. Bookings on each of these evenings will be reserved to 20 places so that Franco can give his full attention to his “class.” This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a fantastic evening with Franco, learn how to make and enjoy some authentic Italian dishes which you can then impress your friends with your culinary skills.

Franco and Lindy will also be continuing with their Saturday cookery schools at Bridges which proved so popular in 2018. The first of these will be held on Saturday February 23 titled “Welsh and Italian Fusion”, bringing together the best of two traditions as Franco always did at his famous Walnut Tree Restaurant. You will learn how to make laverbread and cockle fritters, a cockle sauce with home made pasta, lamb rissoles and Lloyd George’s favourite lemon cheese pudding The cookery school on Saturday April 27 is fish based at which you will be learning how to fillet and cook red mullet and mackerel, Italian style. Finally, there will be a Mediterranean themed day on Saturday Jun 29. Each of these events will feature a three course lunch with wine and biscuits to take home.
