“Monmouth is a far better place for the compassion shown by its local community centre.”
Victoria Halifax, editor, Monmouthshire Beacon
Apart from providing a base for a wide range of activities, Bridges is also directly responsible for a number of initiatives arising from and designed to fulfil the needs of the community.
We support the local older generation by offering two social sessions a week, with varied activities. Social Circles offers its users a regular (and in many cases their only) opportunity to meet others and enjoy a cooked lunch. Social Circles is the successor to COMIC, part of Bridges since it started.
A totally inclusive and intergenerational weekly activity enjoyed by older people, often with physical and mental problems including dementia; carers, adults and children with intellectual challenges; people who are lonely; people who want to get fit, enjoy dancing and want to exercise. Our Tea Dances are supportive, therapeutic events where carers can feel at ease about the participation of those they care for.
